Tickets are now available for the Come and Sing workshop, on 26th September, in the Old Gym at Wellington College. This is a full day workshop, open to all singers, where we will be singing Elgar's the Music Makers and it is an opportunity to explore this fascinating work whilst developing your choral and singing techniques.
This work is Elgar's setting of the Poem 'Ode' by Arthur O'Shaughnessy, which celebrates the dreaming artist. It was dedicated to his friend Nicholas Kilburn, who was a major influence and supporter of Elgar's career. The Music Makers contains snatches from Elgar's earlier works, including the Dream of Gerontius, Sea Pictures and the Enigma Variations and so is almost a musical autobiography of his life.
If you have always wanted to join a choir but are undecided then take a chance and join us for the day and enjoy working with these beautiful piece. We would love to meet you and are always happy to welcome new members.
Refreshments are included in the ticket price of £20 but please bring a packed lunch. Music hire is separately available for the day at £2.50.
Please put 10EBT into the Promotional code box & hit Apply to receive the 10% 'early bird' discount on the workshop tickets purchased by 31st August. We look forward to seeing you at the workshop.
