To join CCS as a singing member, just come along to a rehearsal and see if you like it. Singers of all adult ages and ability are welcome and there are no auditions. As with most choirs we are always on the lookout for tenors and basses. Whilst mainly men, we have had several fine female tenor voices. Younger members are also always welcome.
Our repertoire is varied. It includes any of the great choral works from past eras and the present day. Many of the pieces we sing can be challenging to learn, but highly rewarding. We will recommend various learning aids including CDs, digital tracks, etc. that can make learning the notes much easier.
If you decide to become a member we will provide you with a joining pack and a membership application. There is an annual subscription of £100. We also hire out the music and there is a fee of £2 per piece, (Usually no more than four pieces). Or you can buy your own copy. We normally perform concerts in evening wear which you will need to provide.
